REBECCA
Rebecca
Jones was the popular girl at school...well, at least the
medium-popular one.
She
was the sheep who followed the herd, who would cut off her right arm
to be in with the “in” crowd. She is constantly trying to
be something she isn’t, dying her hair and diving headfirst into
professions she is barely suited for.
In
deeper terms, she is a post-feminist girl who wants to make it in a
man’s world by using her feminine wiles. She is hindered by her
lack of business acumen, and her failure to understand the male
mind.
Her
good looks have won her countless opportunities, but her two biggest
flaws have scuppered them all.
Rebecca
is not smart enough to analyse her failures and learn from them.
Instead she makes excuses for them, and draws others into her
web. Playing the victim can turn defeats into victories for
her, because she can gain sympathy from others.
This
has become very easy for her to do, mainly because of friends like
Jess who are always willing to provide a shoulder to cry on.
Sympathy
is now her main goal in life - she almost wants to fail, on a bigger
scale each time so she has more battle scars to show to the world.
She
does not take kindly to those who aren’t on her side. She
turns on them quickly, and passes on the brutal rejection she has
received in her career. |
